Japanese experimental artist Yama Warashi releases joyful pop song ‘Saku Saku’ from her upcoming LP Crispy Moon (the fourth in a ‘Moon’ themed album titles) out May 27th on PRAH Recordings. The album will be her first since moving to London “I wanted to be here too because of the high creative energy, the diversity of the music and art here and the people who live here.” The move to a new city and all the new experiences that come with it can be felt on the new record, the production is less lo-fi than her previous releases, larger sounding and more confident. ‘Saku Saku’ is a bouncy pop track that draws on Japanese folk dance music and jazzier elements with an upbeat psychedelic edge, set to a video of masked ‘magical dancing beings’ and old Japanese stock footage. -Toby Evans-Jesra
